How to get the best out of this blog...

All blogs post are more recent first, if you want to read about Ellie's Journey I'd suggest starting from the first post back in September 2011 (October Posts) and read on Chronologically from there. It will make more sense and you'll get to meet the little girl who gave my life purpose.
Thank You for reading - every new reader shows that she has met another person and in her short life made such an impact. x

Friday 4th February - Early to bed - early to rise....

My new top from Olivia and Nicole Palin. xx
The day started early for me at 4am when I had a big belly full of wind. Mummy sat with me and the tub of grape seed oil and she made circles round my belly for an hour. Carole popped her head in and made her a cup of coffee with extra sugar, which she drunk to help keep her eyes open. Ray Ray Red Boa came in and kept Mummy Company for a bit because I was making a few un comfy noises, eventually after an hour I had a rumble downstairs. One nice fresh nappy later and ...yawn....all ready to sleep again, while Mummy was wide awake on caffeine, oops.
Talking about caffeine, I think I was joking about it the their day, but apparently Dr Burns is going t give me wings, apparently premature babies often are given caffeine to help stimulate their brain so that they don't forget to breathe, as I normally do this anyway its worth a shot! So now I’ll be having Red Bull after all ;-)
She may have got a bit of sleep, although she missed breakfast while we were having big cuddles on the cuddle chair.  Daddy arrived after his morning run, (oh yes, he is training, promise!) just in time for a cup of tea made kindly by Suze.

Mummy, Daddy and I are really touched by how much everyone is getting involved with my fundraising. Firstly a quick mention to Big Cousin Glyn at Vicars Cross Golf Club and Ken Heaton (Grandma's neighbour) at Everton is busy selling raffle tickets for Grandma's big Coffee Morning next Saturday morning at Great Barrow Village Hall near Chester. But also there has been some amazing activity also going on....

Good Luck Wendy!
I'm in the news again I got a mention in a newspaper article all the way in Reading - amazing Mum Wendy Shaw is warming up as you read putting on her trainers and getting ready to run 50 whole miles - crazy! But how cool is that, running for me when she's never even met me. Good Luck from us all over here Wendy and just to embarrass you more here's your newspaper article! P.s At this rate you never know we might get a ward! Hee Hee!

Big Thanks to Amy at I heart you Jewerllery who today now has blisters all over her fingers and has donated a massive £200 to the Little Miss Ellie fundraising campaign from sales of the 'Little Miss Ellie Purple heart necklace'. In just one week from you bloggers -  You are all fantastic, and dont forget there are other colours available! ;-)
Daddy might get a red one for Mummy for Valentines and I might get a blue one for Mummy for Mothers day - just a thought.

Another bit of publicity:-  thank you to my lovely Maureen who works with East Cheshire Children's Deaf Society for a mention on their online site. http://www.ecdcs.co.uk/newsletters/Newsletter%2001.11.pdf
Cake Heaven
I have to make a special mention today to Claire Jennings from Shavington; she has been taking it on herself to be a one woman fundraising machine at her workplace UK Fuels. The staff there have been so generous, getting involved, they have a inter company football grudge match every year where they have renamed their trophy after me! (And I don't even like    football - well I don't really understand the offside rule.) ;-)
They have had a dress down day raising over £620 and Claire provided and arranged a raffle for one of Mummy's favourite things, CAKE, made by a very clever lady called Katie Canavan...look at that....which after being raffled today has raised a further £138! £758 in total! Mummy is going to add that to our off line donations today.

As for me, I've had a restful day, no interruptions, except when I was rudely awoken for a bath, but as I like baths it's really ok! I had a visit from Alison Flowers again who brought some salad for Mummy and Daddy to help with them being rundown, they like having green stuff now and again. Mummy thinks it will help make her eyes less blotchy, even if she just wears the cucumber rather than eating it.
Penny came for a visit too and on her birthday as well! Happy Birthday Penny! x Thank You for coming.
I started the day having cuddles with Mummy watching breakfast television and I'm ending the day watching movies having cuddles with Daddy. That'll do for me.

Thursday 3rd February - Dry Run

My little friend Poppy reminded me about Chinese New Year which started today, Mummy recieved a text message from Bubblelamp Jane with Chinese New Year Proverb, for us, I think she thought it very apt for today "May the still waters bring a moments of tranquility amongst your moments of anguish".
Today was the day I was going to go swimming for the first time, now just so you are aware, it isn't usual to do this, it is special, because I am dying, the lovely people at the hospital are doing their very best to get me for a swim with my Mummy and Daddy that means the physiotherapy department, the doctors and the nurses all have to get involved. But it was not to be today. Even though forms were signed, things were checked and double checked and everyone eventually was happy. I can't help it if I'm not well though can I?

I had those nasty jabs yesterday which gave me a bit of a temperature today and high blood pressure and I still can't get rid of these watery bubbles which make me cough a lot and keep my heart rate up. Everyone waited until last minute, I even had my lunch early to help me settle but then after being awake all morning I was very tired and I yawned a bit, and then cried a bit then cried some more and then fell asleep.
I have to be in as tip top condition as I can be before I goes for a jaunt to the pool (no matter how pretty my swimming cossie is) and I also need to be awake. I was not any of those things by the time I was due to go; so, I didn't :-(   (Maybe another time)

Mummy has found a funny little bear called Mowbry, she had a chat with him about how he would feel going on some adventures on my behalf. She and Daddy thought he'd make a nice mascot for the ward and get him to go travelling to raise money. We thought he could take details about my blog around the world and maybe encourage people to donate to my fund? Mowbry can now be found on Facebook and you can make friends with him, we are looking for people who would like to take them travelling with them to lots of different countries and have their photo taken then upload to his page, I will never get to travel or get to Australia to see Grandad Adrian and Nanny Marg, crikey I cant even get out of the hospital! Oh by the way - check out today's total we had a big donation from a very nice company _Thank you to you know who! ;-)

I had a very nice visitor today a lady called Clare from Nantwich who reads my blog. She contacted Mummy about bringing clothes for Ellie bay, the ward and the neonatal ward. Clare had three big bags full of pretty clothes from her lovely twin girls, Olivia and Nicole. She says that having two babies is tiring and she was very sympathetic to Mummy having a poorly baby like me. Mummy said it was nice to meet such a nice, kind person.

We also had a visit from a special doctor today who discusses rubbish stuff like when my health deteriorates and how I may die. I know Mummy and Daddy are ok to discuss it because they know that it's coming - but it still isn't nice for them to hear. Everything gets written on paper to be official and gets put in a brown envelope, like most bad news and when they read it they gulped a little.

It’s no wonder they get sad looking. Mummy says its easier to snap and shout at people when you are emotional and tired, but it just isn't a nice thing to do and it's normally those people are those who are closest to you. (Mummy and Daddy never shout at me) Mummy says that being sad for such a long time makes for feeling poorly sometimes and being friendly and nice can be very tiring when you feel that bad.
Mummy and Daddy are so tired, Mummy says she is going to see her doctor tomorrow, Grandma says they need more fresh air and vitamins that they are run down but they don't know how to make things better because they are so worried about me all the time.

Wednesday 2nd February -

Daddy was in charge today, he likes being left alone with me so that bossy Mummy doesn't interfere and tell him 'that this is wrong and that's not right and those pants don't go with that top and why did you put that there...' you know the type of thing, general Daddy nagging. To be fair my Daddy is probably one of the best Daddy's you could ever hope to have, he washes my face, he holds me safely in the bath,  he does my nappies, he tickles me and talks and sings all jibberish and  he holds my hand when I have my injections - like today, ooch.

When Mummy finally showed her face late afternoon I might add, she was all different and her hair was all bouncy, she wasn't alone either she'd picked up a weary traveller, Harry had come to see me too. It was very nice to have cuddles and strokes from her and she always makes Mummy and Daddy relaxed.
Mummy had been to a big girls toy shop and bought a mini sewing kit and stuff for making my special quilt. She probably should have bought 'how to make a quilt' book too but is convinced that the 'haphazard and not really a clue' method is better for her, along with asking Grandma of course. I like her confidence! We'll see.

My Cousin Beth and a teeny heffalump

Daddy had an email from my clever Aunty Julia, I think she must have been knitting with her hands and her feet because she has made the smallest knitted elephant you have ever seen and she had to use four teeny knitting needles to do it. It took her two whole hours! Oh, and of course it's a purple Elly, for Ellie. She said that if anyone would like a special teeny purple heffalump she would knit more....how many teeny heffalumps could one lady make? Would any one like to by one? If so Aunt Julia to make more teeny heffalumps and turn them into keyrings? If so that would be more proceeds for my fund!
Mummy was so tired today she was falling alseep in the cuddle chair and her eyelids were all droopy so she 'apologised to me and said, I cant type today baby girl'. and then zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
So she hasn't got a clue what i got up to with Daddy while she was asleep and I'm not telling you either as thats's our little secret!

Tuesday 1st February - Starting the third month :-(

A new month: I can’t believe we are still here! And where did today go?  My door has opened and closed all day long. I have had visits from eight doctors today. One to check my tummy and two to watch; one to over see another to do my jabs, which weren't done because I threw up my lunch. And finally another three to say goodbye - we made sure we put them on the map though.
Talking about the map! It arrived in the post today, only the Uk version, we need a world one too because Mummy has been busy reading my 'fan mail'.  I'd like to say hello to some of my lovely blog followers, Pamela and Ethan from Decatur, Illinois in a whole another country called America; Rachel, Chris, Fin and Sadie in sunny Spain; Hester, Paul, Magnus, Bruno, & Heidi in snowy Switzerland; Adrienne in Glasgow and Abigail, Ella and Martha in good old Snottingham (as Mummy calls it.) (Tunes advert circa 1984) Thank you for all of you kind wishes.
My occupational therapist called in to check on me today and so did my speech therapist who had nice brown skin and admitted to having (probably needing!) a sunshine holiday after being in a room with me last time when I misbehaved.
Oh and this misbehaving, Mummy is now concerned that it could be time again, as Grandma was in today and offered was going to stay this week but I think she thinks it may be a bad omen. It’s been six days since my last funny do and Mummy said that as she tries to sleep she can't because there is a butterfly in her tummy that won’t fly out. So maybe next week Daddy said maybe they could even brave going to the cinema but keep their phones on, just in case.
I've been wearing my favourite colour Purple today, twice (had to change after the lunch time sicking up business) and so was grandma and so was Nanny Tina when she came with Grandad! aside from a little hiccup this morning where my oxygen levels were all over the place I have been at 100%, top marks for me. Daddy keeps looking at the oxygen, I think he wants to tweak it down, but if I remain stable like this for the next day or so by Thursday Mummy says I might get to go for my swim. I'd cross my fingers if I could.
I am really settled after reading my bedtime story and am just..a...about....to....fall........a....s....l....e.....e....p....zzzzzzzzzzz
